Wait list for KEFW

Post by Queensimster »

Hi all, I'm new to the forum but does anyone know if the wait lists for KEFW is split by gender? By this I mean do they have a wait list for male and female or are they mixed? As my son is 12th in the wait list but not sure if they only select a boy from the wait list if a boy rejects a place?

Purely on score, there is no gender quota at KEFW

They are implementing the new pp policy though.

Despite the current heads attempt to turn it into a girls school KEFW is still mixed, predominantly male, and entry is purely based on score - excepting PP of course

Ok thanks the responses just wasn't sure how it all worked as I read somewhere that admittance was half girls half boys. Hopefully he'll be lucky number 12!

Will the PP affect the wait list at all?

Ok thanks, that would make sense as a normal comprehensive school wouldn't look at gender is it was a mixed school

Does anyone know the ratio of girls and boys allocated places at KEFW this year? 6 girls only out of a class of probably 20-30 previous years? Why so?

Any idea what's the lowest that has been offered through waiting list, please?

KEFW was previously an all boys school. Girls have been coming through for the last few years and from the feedback I grt have the girls don't see this as disadvantageous and usually love it there and do well. Excellent school all round.
Expect scores to come down by 4-5 points I should think by September.

I hadn't realised KEFW was a boys school to begin with!

Does anyone know if PP affect the wait list?
