Schools having many seats for outside catchment students
Hi,
Can I please get some help to find, which grammar schools are having good number of seats for students outside catchment area? We are looking for schools around London area and also considering some areas from where daily commute to central London is possible for work.

QE boys in Barnet has no catchment and 180 places. It is not that far from High Barnet tube.
Henrietta Barnet for girls has no catchment and 93 places. It is in Hampstead Garden Suburb but no tube near.
Clement Danes In Chorleywood has 20 academic spaces on no catchment. Chorleywood Tube is 20 mins walk.
Mill Hill County has 24 academic places and also music and dance places on no catchment.
If you have a Y5 dc registration for Mill Hill is open now with exam on June 13th and registration for QE opens on 1st May, HBS sometime in April and Clement Danes on May 13th. DG

Both on the London/Surrey borders, Nonsuch High School for Girls (http://www.nonsuchschool.org" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) and Wallington High School for Girls (wallingtongirls.sutton.sch.uk) have 85 and 100 places respectively for which no catchment area is defined. The actual numbers seem to be tweaked each year, but those are accurate (I believe) for 2016 entry.

Wilson and Wallington County are still open selective.
Sutton Grammar has 60 open places.
Greenshaw also has 60 open places.
Upton Park and Herschel (Slough) also have open places.
Tiffin School (boys) and Tiffin Girls school have a very large catchment area. Depending on where you live, you could well be in their catchment area.

Newstead Wood (all girls) in Orpington (London Borough of Bromley) has a 9 mile catchment. Although the figures state about 600 applied for 160 places far more sat the exam and got results that clearly meant they were wasting a slot on their CAF so didn't apply, thousands try so the odds are tough.
