Maths A level from 2015
I have several questions I hope someone will be able to help with:
Will there still be the same C1, C2, etc, breakdown of the course with the same variety of option modules such as M1, S1 etc? Ie, will the structure of what is taught be the same?
Will the content be the same?
Is there the option of just doing AS and getting that qualification?
For A level, will it now involve exams only at the end of year 2 over everything covered in the past 2 years?
Will any AS result just be ignored when assessing A level exam results?

Re: Maths A level from 2015
Hopefully g55 will be along soon being the expert on this but my understanding is that Maths is not changing from 2015. I believe it was going to change from 2016 but this has now been put back to 2017 so the first cohort will be those that have come through the new GCSE maths.
Re: Maths A level from 2015
Its not changing until the cohort currently in year 9 reaches that stage. I wonder if this will still be the case with the problems with the proposed new GCSE that came to light this week. G55?

Re: Maths A level from 2015
Thank you both for your prompt responses.
So it sounds like nothing will have changed for 2015 start.

Re: Maths A level from 2015
If you look at the 'Timeline of reform' thread in GCSE then you will see that the new Maths A level starts in September 2017.
New GCSE starts this September and I posted a report on the recent comparison of specimen papers in that thread too ..

Thanks. I'll have a look at that.
