Can someone please explain how to look at scores
Hello All,
Need help. I am completely confused and do not understand how to look at scores. My DD is currently getting around 70% in English and 85% in Math practice papers at home.
In mock tests outside home she is mostly on the same scores.
What is the general cut off for the grammar schools in Sutton (Nonsuch & Wallington). What does raw score means??? What does standardised score mean???
Please help understand.....
Thanks
Jas

I don't know about Surrey schools particularly, but this might help explain standardised scores.

I assume you are looking at the multiple choice test scores ?
English needs to be higher, as a general rule of thumb Girls do better in English than boys.
Also, another think to bare in mind is both girls GS have second stage tests as well.
They do not tend multiple choice, English will require Essay writing skills, how is DD on this.
As far as I know, they tend to put more emphasis on the second stage tests for calculating the final score.
On the open days they have people on hand on from the admission team, I would speak to them.
