AGSB- Extra Year 7 Intake

We have just had a message from school advisng that intake ( for the next two years at least) will be increased by an extra 30 ( so 7 forms instead of 6) to increase revenue to the school.

Just though prospective parents might be interested to know this.

Wow! That must be great news for OOC boys, having 30 more places gives you a much better chance of gaining a place. I guess in catchment it wont really affect you as a pass would be an automatic offer of a place anyway.

That also helps to explain why the 'out of catchment' qualifying school went down to 343 this year, compared to the 351-355 required of the past few years!

'Out of catchment' boys only had to get 9 more marks than in-zone to be offered places on March 1st this year!

Are they having am extra class starting September? My DS starts then, he is OOC , i didnt know the cut off score for this cohort, i do know quite a few boys at my DS school opted for MGS instead even though they were offered an OOC place which would have helped bring the score down a bit, but that does sound like there is another form, all those anxious moments last year could have been eased somewhat knowing there would be another form!!!

It is September 2015 and 2016. Which is wonderful news for us who are OOC.

Brilliant news - but can I just be really clear is it for those boys sitting the exam September 2015 and 16. I know that 2014 boys had 7 forms. THX

Its for sept 2015 and 2016 intake. No mention of 2017 intake.
