Newstead wood out of catchment
Hi,
Please could you advise if the girls from outside catchment have any chance of getting into the school for next year in take in Newstead wood .
Looking at the admission policy it states that out of catchment would have no chance to get a place.
Please advise.

If the school says that, they may well be right - they would have access to the figures at least for year 6 girls attending primary schools in the Borough of Bromley. However, assuming that they don't actually refuse to let your DD take their test and assuming that she does well, you could always use one of your CAF places on the school and hope. How far away are you actually applying from - didn't you previously ask about CCHS?ukessex09 wrote:Hi,

Re: Newstead wood out of catchment
No one has ever got in for last ten years out of catchment or before that to my knowledge but someone correct me if they know any different. However the rumour mill that the reason Townley have suddenly been oversubscribed may be a result of the newish head mistress at Newstead who didn't impress many at recent open days may be based on some truth, but unlikely to result in those outside the area getting places at Newstead. The school is still a magnet due to the hardworking ethos of the girls that attend and so some are prepared to put opinions about the head aside on that basis.

P.s this post may be better placed in the Bexley and Bromley thred as Newstead is technically in Bromley rather than Kent.

The same question has also been posted in at least one other area so probably will be in Kent as well, but perhaps a Mod will move this thread over.PettswoodFiona wrote:P.s this post may be better placed in the Bexley and Bromley thred as Newstead is technically in Bromley rather than Kent.
