Yes they do so they can cope with upset children and parents.

I avoided the eye of all staff for a whole week before results as I could not bear seeing a pitying look! DG

Oh really so they will know now.
I'd love to be in that staff room

My son's school is outside Medway. Will his school know his results?

It is nothing to do with Medway. Your primary school will be sent your results before you are. DG

Will my DD's primary school in Herts know the 11 + exam results before us or will they just know the allocated school before the National Allocation day ?

Thanks

You won't know the school before Allocation Day.
You will just know whether they are eligible for selective education or not and use that knowledge in your application.

Not sure if it is the same in Medway, but in Kent we have headteacher's review, if a school thinks the child should have passed and is capable, then they send in examples of work and a supporting letter. This all happens before the parent knows the results.

I was led to believe that our primary school knew a few days ahead of National Allocation Day, which secondary schools the year 6 kids would be moving on to. By the Head. (Berkshire).

But the school was not really involved at all with the 11+ process, so they probably had no earlier-than-us knowledge about scores etc.

Yes it was school allocation rather than test results I was talking about. Sorry if I misled you. When my dds sat it was one and the same thing.

In Herts the schools are told before allocation day so they can prepare for upset children.

I was talking to a Y6 teacher in Enfield who was commenting on the impact on friendships between parents and students which are sometimes never repaired.

I will never forget seeing the faces of the students in my dds class who thought that being on top table meant that they would automatically get a place.

Just a few friendly words of warning at parents evening would have really helped. DG
