Birmingham Consortium Results - 2016 Entry

Post by Bob1892 »

The results week for B'ham has finally dawned upon us.
The foundation office has repeatedly said that the results will be received by Fri 16th Oct.
It is possible that you will receive the results anytime before Friday.
Please feel free to post your scores.
It's been a stressful wait for many so just a few pointers for this thread.

PLEASE be sensitive to other forum users during this period. This was mentioned last month for the Walsall results and worked great.
With Walsall we said if your scores are 360+ then please post as such. 360 is equivalent to 240 in SD terms &, as the highest initial cut-off score for any B'ham GS over the last 10 years has been 243, it would be sensible if you could post a score of 250 or over as 250+.
This has been the sensible protocol in the last few years and I'm sure most forumites will agree with this.
You may want to post your Walsall score as well if you did both tests for the sake of comparison.
Plus you may want to give your Warks score if you ticked the share data box.
No one likes to see someone coming out of the woodwork on this forum for the first time and saying 'my dc scored 290- yippee'. Great news but not necessary.
The other classic is: will 280 make chg? Behave....
Some regulars on this forum may have not had the score they were hoping & it can be upsetting.
By all means PM other forum users if you want to share actual scores.
It would be useful to state alongside your scores whether you're PP (pupil premium) or Non-PP as well.

The FO will provide the cut-offs for the last 3 years to aid your decision.
The following is last year's cut-offs with (crucially) the revised, confirmed cut-offs from the waiting lists following the allocations in March 2015:
CHB: PAN = 120, PP = 30, Over PAN = 0, Cut-Off=243 Waiting List Offers = 48+4(PP), Revised Cut Off Score = 238 (recent claim of 236 being admitted unconfirmed); (219 PP)

FW: PAN = 180, PP = 36, Over PAN = 0, Cut-Off=232 Waiting List Offers = 58, Revised Cut Off Score =227; (206 PP)

CHG: PAN = 150, PP = 30, Over PAN = 0, Cut-Off=231 Waiting List Offers = 42, Revised Cut Off Score = 225; (210 PP)

KEA: PAN = 120, PP = 30, Over PAN = 0, Cut-Off=224 Waiting List Offers =25 , Revised Cut Off Score = 218; (207 PP)

KEHG: PAN = 160, PP = 32, Over PAN = 0, Cut-Off=219 Waiting List Offers = 43, Revised Cut Off Score = 215; (209 PP)

SCGSG: PAN = 180, PP = NA, Over PAN = 0, Cut-Off=215 Waiting List Offers = 57(recently confirmed), Revised Cut Off Score = 212

BV: PAN = 160, PP = NA, Over PAN = 0, Cut-Off=219 Waiting List Offers = 43, Revised Cut Off Score = 215

HGB: PAN = 150, PP = NA, Over PAN = 0, Cut-Off=207 Waiting List Offers = 34 (unconfirmed), Revised Cut Off Score = 206

As you can see ,if your dc does not make the initial cut-off then it's not the end of the world – scores will mostly likely drop by a few points over the days, weeks & months following next March, 2016.
Please note that the above revised cut-offs are subject to possible further changes.

And a final note: THINK VERY CAREFULLY ABOUT THE ORDER YOU PUT ON THE LEA SCHOOLS PREFERENCE FORM.

Good luck guys :D - and remember, a sense of humour is not necessary but essential :D :D

Mod: included as sticky for 50 days as requested by Author - also if the first few posters can include any other relevant information included in the score letter we would be grateful

Good luck all. :D
Thanks BM.
The w/l offers and cut-offs given are at a certain time (approx. a few weeks ago) & will be changing right up till the end of this year (& in some cases beyond).

Bob - It will be useful to add PP cut-offs to the list.
