Yes it will, I think it's taken a while to get this far, I'm sure I read something about this proposal before - with parent campaigners because of distance to nearest grammar and suchlike...?
Re: Grammar shake up allowed by Government
There have been several discussions about the Sevenoaks annexe in the Kent section.
Re: Grammar shake up allowed by Government
This is relevant here because it opens a realistic prospective of major expansion of grammars across west mids. Eg alcester grammar kings Norton etc etc

KEFW annex in Sandwell? No other grammars in this LA...
Re: Grammar shake up allowed by Government
I was not questioning the relevance, at this stage, merely pointing out that there this has been a lot of discussion about it in Kent should you wish to follow it.
Kent is a Local Authority with County-wide grammar schools.

A couple of years ago Sandwell needed 16 new reception classes. So they will shortly need 16 new year 7 classes. Space for a few grammar school classes in a new school in the mix?

Bring it on. With the right approach Sandwell could be much better.Midlandsmom wrote:KEFW annex in Sandwell? No other grammars in this LA...
There are enough bright kids and nearly the same amount of sensible parents in Sandwell to support a gramnar.

Re: Grammar shake up allowed by Government
Wonderful news and a great idea to open annexes, although Sevenoaks will be challenged in court and possibly lose. But there must be opportunity for KE Foundation to set up annexes in neighbouring authorities. It really is appalling that in all of Walsall, Sandwell, Dudley and Wolverhampton there is only one grammar school for boys and only two for girls.
