Great interview by the impressive Sarah Shilling who started this all four years ago.

Yes, great interview.

Well done to both the Shillings for spearheading the campaign and keeping at it, year after year, for the benefit of other people's children.

There are major challenges now for WoK to manage the expansion process effectively, including responding to the concerns and expectations of existing and prospective WoK families; but that should not detract from recognising the huge achievement of the Shillings in galvanising local support, lobbying the right people and presenting the pro-grammar argument so persuasively.

Hear hear UncleBob!!

Too late for my kids who have to suffer the farcical long journey south, along with hundreds of other Sevenoaks District kids on a daily basis, but at last Sevenoaks District is going to begin the journey to parity with those living in Tonbridge/T Wells and pretty much every other town in Kent.

I'm sure you are right that it is only a matter of time before the boys join too. Just a shame TWBGS didn't have the balls to put a similar proposal forward to WoK so they could be joining when the girls start.

The latest housing report commissioned by Sevenoaks DC states that another c12, 000 houses are needed in the District in the next 20 years. Do those so vociferously against the Sevenoaks annex think the existing Grammar provision is going to be able to cope? Of course its not, so lets start preparing the Grammar infrastructure for our kids that the rest of Kent currently enjoys.
