AGGS/Sale Grammar

Post by workerbee »

I am really curious how the standardised scores differed between these two schools considering it was the same examination. I am not asking for scores it's non of my business, but a clue to whether Sale scored differently, as seems to have happened in recent years. Of course they might use a different standardisation formula, this we will never know.

DD obviously sat both - her Sale score was 2 marks higher than her Altrincham score. The number of correct answers etc must be exactly the same, so the difference can only be down to how they weight each particular section, or how they standardise the scores.

When I say she "sat" both, I mean we asked for her score to be considered for both schools!

I know someone whose standardised AGGS mark was 13 lower than her SGS mark. This must be because the Alty cohort scored higher therefore their pass mark was higher.
