LSS and Ashlawn Selective rankings - 2015
I emailed WCC about rankings and places offered at LSS and Ashlawn last year and received the following reply. Some useful information for those wondering what their dc's chances are of securing a place this year...
The lowest score offered for Lawrence Sheriff School (boys only) for 2015 entry on national offer day was 208.
The ranking all boys with this score was 388 out of 1001 (with 13 others on this same ranking).
The ranking of boys residing in the Eastern Priority Areas with this score was 109 out of 372 (with 3 others on this same ranking).
As of 23rd October 2015, the lowest score re-offered from Lawrence Sheriff's waiting list is 206.
The ranking for all boys with this score was 821 out of 1001 (with 24 others on this same ranking). Please note that for 2015 entry, following offer day, no account was taken of the child's' priority area therefore the main distinction was first score then distance (for those candidates with the same score).
The lowest score offered for Ashlawn Selective School (mixed) for 2015 entry on national offer day was 206.
The ranking all children with this score was 821 out of 1001 (with 24 others on this same ranking).
The ranking of boys residing in the Eastern Priority Areas with this score was 117 out of 372 (with 4 others on this same ranking).
As of 23rd October 2015, the lowest score re-offered from Ashlawn Selective's waiting list is 207. Please note that for 2015 entry, following offer day, no account was taken of the child's' priority area therefore the main distinction was first score then distance (for those candidates with the same score).
The ranking for all children with this score was 788 out of 2016 (with 33 others on this same ranking).
Hope this helps.

Re: LSS and Ashlawn Selective rankings - 2015
interesting that for Ashlawn the lowest score offered off the waiting list (207) was higher than the lowest score offered on national offers day (206)
Re: LSS and Ashlawn Selective rankings - 2015
I thought that was interesting too. Im guessing that as waiting list offers don't take catchment into account, it potentially allows someone with a higher score (but lower than AQS) to gain a place after offers day.

Thank-you for posting this information, it's very helpful.
We were out of catchment when my ds took his 11 plus, so I have no idea how many boys took the 11 plus - do you have that information please? We are only looking at the Eastern area (LS). I tried phoning Warks up but they refused to tell me as we were out of catchment at the time. Thanks!
