You need to request from the school the mean raw score and standard deviation for each paper, in order to perform the type of calculation necessary. However, there is a complication compared to the CSSE, in that the Nonsuch results are age standardised, whereas the CSSE does not do this (therefore the figures requested from the CSSE are the mean and sd for the cohort which sat the test as a whole), so presumably for your own DD you would have to request the data relevant to the grouping in her raw scores were included.curiousappa wrote:Any help

What you can't say, though, is that 'the maximum standardised score in this paper was x, my DD scored 60% raw marks in that paper, so her standardised score should be '(60% of x)' .
Looking at the Nonsuch website, the final score overall consists of the age-standardised scorers from the SET, the Stage 2 Maths paper and the Stage 2 English paper in the ratio 1:1:1, so whatever the overall mark is, you can subtract the other two to find the standardised score in the SET (unless you were given this when you were told pass or fail for the SET, in which case this beer nothing?).
