St Clem appeals ooc

Post by thefirs »

Just thinking ahead , we did entrance test, we are ooc, dc diagnosed dyslexic aug 2015 so couldn't submit before hand. If we didn't get a place is it worth appealing ? Do we appeal to school or county, what do we know about their appeals please ? Thx

Hi

You are not able to register for appeal until allocation day.

I have found the following information on the school's website

If you wish to appeal against the Governors‟ decision not to award you a place you need to either:
a. Log into your online application at http://www.hertsdirect.org/admissions" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and click on the link “register
an appeal”.

You will need a strong case to win an appeal and provide medical evidence etc and prove why SCD is the only school that meets his needs. You will need to present a case on why SCD can help.

I would also recommend you contact [information removed by Moderator - please send via PM] he can advise if he thinks you have a case or not.

Good Luck

I have a similar case and was wondering what kind of evidence have you got? and how do we get the number of the man mentioned? Thank you for your help.

Although there are experienced Appeals advisers available for "commercial hire", I would also commend you to our own "Appeals Q&A": http://www.elevenplusexams.co.uk/appeals" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The information there may seem overwhelming at first, but it has been carefully compiled by Etienne over more than a decade, and answers many questions that are specific to grammar schools.

It is entirely possible to prepare your own appeal case, at no cost at all, if you take the time to read her advice. She, I and other members are always here to answer questions on the Appeals section if you are struggling with the next steps.

Ultimately, success will depend on the strength of the academic evidence, plus any extenuating circumstances. Whether the adviser is free or charges ££££ is your choice, but we have helped many parents to successful appeals over the years.

A11. Is my appeal more likely to succeed if I have professional support, e.g. if I am accompanied by a solicitor or barrister? I also note that there are a number of individuals and companies that offer specialist appeals support and advice.
