Re: Vive La France
The news is quite shocking.
Its hard to understand the mentality of such suicide bombers attacking multiple targets in a ethnically diverse city. Some of the victims will have been muslims. If there is a paradise that is not where such people go in the eyes of any right thinking people.
We have been fortunate that many attacks in the Uk have been foiled. Most people do not appreciate the extent of the threat and the work going on daily to prevent attrocities here. This is a different type of threat. How do you protect such soft targets from this type of attack?
I still remember travelling around central London by train and underground on the day the attacks took place in July a few years back.It was a long day.

You will have to go seperately on the same link as my link has reached the free article limit. The article is news on the UK authorities were expecting an attack here following the death of Jahadi John.

The victims were from many different backgrounds, countries and walks of life.

This is part of Diarras wilipaedia profile which has been updated.
Diarra is a practising Muslim. On 13 November 2015, his cousin Asta Diakite was killed during the November 2015 Paris attacks. At the time, Diarra was playing for France in an international friendly against Germany at Stade de France.
The two Tunisian ladies referred to in the news article I would also infer were from muslim backgounds. There are still over 300 casualties in hospital with about a third with crtical injuries.

Thoughts also for the families of the 10 rail workers killed and those injured in a TGV crash near Strasbourg yesterday - I can't seem to post the link to the BBC news site - what an horrific weekend for the country.

Re: Vive La France
My deepest condolences to all those that lost their lives in this atrocity.
I hope this does not increase the shocking levels of Islamophobia in Europe and the equally and disturbing increase in anti-semitism now prevalent.
We should stand together whatever faith, ethnicity or culture we come from and not allow these murderers (who incidentally have killed more Muslims than any other group)-separate us .
We are stronger together.
