We got through!
We had our appeal last Friday and I can honestly say that the whole experience has completely drained me. The panel were very nice and gave us as much time as we needed to put our case forward. As advised, we concentrated on our son's academic ability and played down our mitigating circumstances. One of the panel, who was a physician, was especially sympathetic (Sally-Anne hopefully you will understand this, and we did not have to show the letter). We were asked many questions, which at the time I viewed negatively, but the panel were just trying to build up a clearer picture of our circumstances. Left the hearing with mixed feelings, but knowing we had done our best. Received our letter today confirming that our appeal had been successful. A big, big thank you to everyone out there, especially Sally-Anne.
This forum does some great work and I am now more prepared for Oct 2008 when my next child sits their 11+
Again thank you and the best of luck for others awaiting their appeals or their letters.
