Harder maths papers for HBS/Habs/MT/NLCS etc in January

Post by Daogroupie »

Which 11 plus maths papers do members think are the hardest?

Habs, Latymer, IPS, DAO, FPTP, CGP have all been covered and now working through North London Consortium.

Final push now for the January exams. Can anyone recommend any papers? Free would be great but happy to pay for anything that fits the bill. This is for students who have already done the state selectives so they have been working with 11 plus Maths for some time.

Thanks DG

This has not been my experience when reviewing the marks. I would say North London Consortium or Habs. But now I am looking for different ones not mentioned. DG

Have you come across any Latymer Upper papers? In my experience, they are amongst the hardest papers there are ( esp section B).

I could not find any sample papers on their webssite. Any idea where I might find them?

Withington Girls paper 2s. DD has done MGS, NLCS and was managing the harder questions fairly well. Attempted WGS paper 2 a few days ago and had a shock! Got about 40%. Apparently 55% is considered a reasonable mark for the second paper. Have to ring school and buy over phone, not downloadable.

Manchester Grammar (free to download) these have been difficult and a good challenge. I shall mention Latymer, again to help other students as well as your own. For people aiming at Sept 2016 exams Latymer are still very good.

Try not to worry, 40% on paper 2 at this stage is not bad.

Mind you I did warn you

Best of luck -fingers and toes crossed for you DC

SPGS- paper 2 if even harder imo

Latymer Maths is excellent but they have all been done so new material is required.

Thank you for the input. We will have a go at Withington. DG
