DD and DS

Post by jellywobble »

Many of you regular posters use the terms DS and DD during posts in teh forums, which I soon realised represented a son or daughter.

But please put me out of my misery, and tell me what the first D stands for !

Yours (behind the times)

Have always assumed it stands for 'darling' - but could be other things depending on their moods!!!

I've often wondered that too!
I made the assumption that it was "Dear" in the end but I'm really not sure. Could equally be "Dunkin Doughnut" or Nintendo "DS"!

I think it stands for Dear, I was on another parent's forum and there was a section where you could look up well known acronyms, and it was there.

Had to laugh at this as there are probably loads of us using it and not really knowing For sure what it stands for.

Also Darling, but I have been know to privately substitute it with Dippy, Dozy, Dopey, Dratted, Disorganised, Demanding, Degenerate, Dysfunctional, ...

You have to make quite a few posts to work your way through that lot though.

I haven't used it, but if I had I would have used it to mean 'dear'.

Because they are  (As in they cost me a lot)

There are lots more out there, only some are not suitable to type here..

I have always thought the D in DS, DD and DH was Darling.
Although I have also substituted it with other things..
