I believe that for St Albans School for Boys the 2nd stage is comprised of two lessons and an interview.

If anyone has further insight into what to expect it would great to give my son a bit of a clearer steer.

Last year my DS had a German and History lesson I think, nothing hard, just to see how they behave in class I think. He wasn't interviewed again but some boys in his group were. Not clear if they were borderline or scholarship interviews.

Yes he is, and yes we both do :D It is hard work, lots of homework, but he has settled really well and got involved in various music activities amongst other things. There is plenty of sport on offer for those that way inclined. Definitely the right choice for him, but I also feel for a wide variety of boys.
