KES Assisted Places
I read the scale of fees document for assisted places at the King Edward School.
It mentions the gross family income. Is this income before deductions like Income Tax, NI etc. or is it after deductions?
Thanks

Gross is before deductions; net is after deductions (i.e. take home)

I think you might also ask about whether gross pay is different from taxable.
Sometimes there are pay deductions made BEFORE tax is assessed. Are those considrred to be income?

We have a KEHS AP and the rules are the same. You definitely need to take into account any pension deductions - so you need to add these back to your income.
Therefore the amount assessed is actually higher than your taxable pay because taxable pay is after you take off the pension payments.
Also, you have to include any non cash benefits.
Hope that helps.
