St Albans High leaves the Consortium and 11+ 2017 date

Post by avidskier »

It has been confirmed today that the High School will be having their own 11+ entrance exam in 2017 and will no longer participate in the North London Consortium given that other highly selective schools have dropped out.
They have set a date of January 10th..

Thank you very much, this is really helpful information.

I think this is a huge mistake for them as they were picking up a lot of North London candidates who could just tick a box and sit at Channing and Hampstead and St Helens.

But I look forward to another sample paper to work with! Have they released a statement saying why? DG

The Headmistress said in a letter to parents that the vast majority of their competitor schools weren't in the consortium (citing NLC and Habs) and also that the school had had some concerns about the quality of the entrance papers which tended to be formulaic and uninspiring.

I wonder if there is a future for the consortium at all?
