Will they ever start listening?

Post by Amber »

Wasn't sure whether to put this in Primary or the Academies thread or start a new one, but I think it deserves the widest audience. Very sad.

Sums it up:
In some ways I don’t feel like a teacher at all any more. I prepare children for tests and, if I’m honest, I do it quite well.

I agree. It is a very sad read (I think there is another thread on this from yesterday).

Don't be, some people would have missed it anyway, so with your post there is less of a chance they won't see it.
I did read that blog post and it opened my eyes quite a bit to what's going on at primary schools. I also read the comments and was a bit shocked by some of them, e.g. things along the lines off 'move over, make space for those who can cope' or 'get out of the kitchen if you can't stand the heat'. I think people who said those things completely missed the key message of that blog post. :(
It felt like I hit rock bottom; suddenly, there was knocking from beneath... (anon.)
