Travel to Southend Schools from Ilford/Romford
Hi,
We are near Chadwell heath/Romford and unable to decide about Southend schools.
Journey time is more than an hour. Are there many children travelling from Ilford/Romford area?
We ruled out Colchester option. Are children traveling to Colchester?

If you look back a bit in the Essex section you will find people who live in your neck of the woods and who are going to send their DC the 45-50 miles up the A12 to school in Colchester every day from September.kbodh wrote:Hi,

As with your enquiry about Tommy More's (which at the end of the day is just a Catholic comp with a few 'selective' places), I don't wish to put you off our llovely grammar schools in Colchester, Chelmsford or here in the Borough of Southend on Sea, but I would think long and hard about the journey. Especially if you feel that for some reason you DS is unable to cope with public transport and will have to come to school by private coach, as there is more to school than just five hours of lessons a day and he will almost certainly miss out on extracurricular activities - or just hanging out with friends at the end of the day.
