Any DGS Parents - starting September 2016?
Just seen the DGGS post and thought it would be really nice to have a similar one for DGS parents. Really looking forward to the induction day/ meeting coming up in July.

My DS is looking forward to starting at DGS but a bit worried about making friends.

Someone from the school goes to the primary schools and interviews the boys. Based on this interview, I'm told, the boys are put in different houses. My son was put with like minded boys and soon made a lot of friends. The induction day is also great for making friends.

Re: Any DGS Parents - starting September 2016?
Hi - my DS also starting Sept...he's the only one from his school so was a little nervous but he enjoyed the induction day, so is pretty excited about everything. I'm looking forward to meeting more parents at the icebreaker. Any folks here whose DS is also travelling by train? I'd be interested in car share / getting together travel companions from Blackheath/Kidbrooke (we're bang in between both) -- please shout if you're interested.
Re: Any DGS Parents - starting September 2016?
Please don't worry mani, my DS was the only one from his small school that went to his GS (though not dgs) and was fine. The teachers were really good at settling them in and I'm sure it will be no different at dgs.
