Boys travelling to KES stratford from Warwick/Leamington are

Post by guruduttc »

Greetings!!

Are there any boys who travel from Warwick/Leamington area to KES?
If so, how long does the the bus journey take? Is it ontime usually?

Our DS has just been offered a place in KES and having missed all the excitement of induction days, music mornings etc... I am hoping to get more info here.

Thanks so much in advance!!

Brilliant News!!

My DS1 goes from just outside Warwick Gates on one of the school coaches - departs about 7.40am and gets to Stratford about 8.15 - plenty of time to get to school. When he does afterschool activities, he gets the X18 and 68 home and that takes loads of time - gets home about 7pm ish (activities finish about 5.30pm).

Current school buses are on the WCC website, and the public buses for Warwick and Leamington X17 and X18 on the Stagecoach website.

Hope this helps.

My DS travels on the X17 from Warwick bus station - 3 buses leave at around 8am and they go directly to Stratford, so very quick and reliable as long as there are no problems on the M40/Longbridge. Passes can be bought from the Stagecoach offices in Leamington or Stratford, termly or annually.

The bus is a very social experience, with both the boys and girls using it; members of the public seem to avoid them and go to Stratford later!

Thanks so much for all your responses & support.

I have another question for you all.
I will need some help with child minding in the evenings, for a couple of hours.

Do any of you have any information please?

Thanks

Your question is not clear. Do you mean child minding for the son who is going to KES or for another child?

With regards to the KES boy, he could look at after school clubs to " stay" in school beyond the 3.55pm end of day - these generally finish around 5.30 but may not be suitable for him (age/interest). The library is usually open till about 5pm. Or he could get the bus home and start on his homework before you get home?

Most secondary age children usually just make their way home. Our eldest did carry on going to a childminder in year 7 and year 8, but only because his siblings were there (and he walked there from school - she didn't pick him up!). Is there a public library near the school or near your home, that your DS could go to to get on with his homework, if he doesn't fancy an after school activity?

You could try searching here for a registered childminder:
