KEGS Uniform
Can anyone please help me out on what PE/ games uniform I will need for September Y7 at KEGS? The list has white polo and shorts but then has things like athletics vest (I would have thought this is for Summer?). It then goes on to add school tracksuit, pus cricket and rugby (again I presume this is only when they play these games or are part of school club).
Also in terms of school coat, bag and sports bag - do most just buy from school uniform shop, or elsewhere?
If someone can tell me what they actually need for September, I can focus my shopping.

We are 'SHSB' rather than 'KEGS' chez Toad, but if they wear the vest for cross-country, he will need it in the autumn term, I would think. (Not even snow stops them at Southend ).

I don't think my son has ever worn the athletics vest except when representing the school at cross country. If you look at the sports day photos on KEGS' twitter page you will see most run in the white polo top and shorts.
The track suit is worn before matches and in exceptionally cold weather as the Bedford Fields can be bracing. Have a look in the gallery on the KEGS website for an idea of what the rugby kit etc looks like. We have never bought a separate cricket kit.
Coat, black- buy from anywhere. Very few wear the school coat.
Bag- buy from anywhere. I would recommend a sturdy rucksack.
Sports bag- medium size as it has to fit in a locker.

I bought the sports bag from the uniform shop and I have bought the recommended rucksack (from John Lewis, it's cheaper) but only because he expressed no interest at all in what bag he wanted and I had no clue!
Pe kit I have bought white shorts and black shorts, then from the schoolwear shop I bought the rugby shirt, the polo shirt, the football socks. I didn't bother with the tracksuit, I doubt it would be wanted before winter anyway and the likelihood of my son being in a sports team is zero!
