North London Girls Consortium maths 2015 results

Post by PDDad »

In the lead up to the 11+ exams, DD managed to do Group 1 and Group 2 North London Consortium maths papers and as I couldn't find any answers, thought it might be useful for other parents to have these.

Obviously, I don't know if they are correct and there might be a couple, we never quite got to the bottom of, so please feel free to comment on any corrections needed/ answers worked out.

Dear NorthDad,

Thanks a lot for posting the answers. Sadly saw the answers today when did the correction of NLCS group 2 yesterday!

15b ..*3 +1

24b) 4.25

25)a)...I think it should be 28th Dec..as we should include 5th Jan also for counting back no of days?

30b) ---I think its 37...also we had big discussion on this question. DH says that we should look at individual square no throw n and myself and DD thinks it should be the sum of numbers thrown that we should be looking for while deciding on share number.
39) a-8
b-8
c-125

36)a) 11.20

37)..mystery for us too
Will try other questions and post answers.

Did not try Group 1 paper so don't know.

Thanks

LadyMuck ,
Thanks a lot for a method for question 37. Its a tricky question for adults; leave alone 10 yr olds!

For :
41 A
My DD should be AEDFG because it says you don't have to use all the stations. She says that her route is 57MIN.

This is different to AEDBCFG which has a length of 58MIN

41B
57 minutes plus 16mins gets 73mins
Considering that it has passed 4 stations (A,E,D,F) to get to G.

38)
a= 5
b=2
c=10
D=12
e=6
f=23

NorthDad ,
The reason yours does not work is because the answers you gave does not prove 2nd equation to be correct.

I've done all the questions but we need one post with all answers really - not had time to do that yet. Perhaps the OP could update his from responses?
