South Warwickshire CAF choices

Post by Chuggabug »

Hi - thought people might like to share their CAF choices and 11 plus score so we could collate and share to help others? (Of course, we have no idea how many will move into the area, or how many out of area have applied, nor numbers of pupil premium/looked after children, so always going to be best guess!)

So far...

Possible KES offers (boys results):
Score/Rank south boys/Others on rank/Rank all south
245/33/7/57 (1 x first choice AGS)
241/57/8/? (1 x first choice AGS, 1 x first choice KES)
239+ (4 x first choice AGS, 1 x independent - thanks for info 'aslongastheirhappy'!)
235/93/11/160 (1 x first choice KES no other grammar on CAF, but may not accept a grammar place if offered, 1 x first choice KES no other grammar on CAF)
233/108/4/? (2 x first choice KES, 2nd choice AGS)
232/112/4/? (1 x first choice KES, no other grammars on CAF)

= 7 boys who are likely to be eligible for KES have chosen other schools - 7 x AGS, 1 x independent.

= 3 others on borderline have first choice KES and no other grammars on CAF, freeing up AGS spaces if they don't get in.

Possible AGS offers:
222/?/?/? (1 x no grammars on CAF)
221/178/7/330 (1 x Pupil Premium first choice AGS)
219/187/9/353 (1 x first choice AGS)

= so far 8 boys likely to qualify for AGS confirmed as first choice.
= 1 likely to be eligible for AGS not putting grammar on CAF, freeing up a spot.

Girls
250+ - 1 x first choice AGS
237/61 -1 x first choice SGGS

Also... I have collated all scores and rankings (for South Boys only I'm afraid) from forum posts and pms into a list on another thread here: http://www.elevenplusexams.co.uk/forum/ ... 43#p594043" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. It's about half way down page 19 of '2016 results for 2017 entry' thread.

Not sure on any others, but will share anything I find out!

From other thread : score 245 - first choice AGS

DS score 233...1st choice KES 2nd AGS .Hopefully 1st round offer but if not then off WL which would free up place at AGS.But happy either way :)

Hi Exactly the same as Blueknows. Score of 233. First choice is KES and 2nd is AGS.

Be aware that waiting list offers for KES are rare as hen's teeth..and after 1st round, late applicants, out of area or children who had not originally listed KES on their form but then request to sit on the waiting list, will be added, so initial positions on wait list can go down as well as up.

We are managing expectations over here so no worries there,...but would late applicants, out of area and children etc be above us on WL (considering we are Stratford based, walking distance to KES )? somehow doesn't make sense .

Interested in thoughts/explanations on this .

Everyone with a higher score would go above you on the waiting list, I'm afraid BlueKnows. The priority areas are only applicable in round one. So once the first round offers are finished and accepted/rejected, the only criteria is score. Living close by would only come into play where scores are shared.

Apologies if I've missed this, but what rank (southern boys in particualar) do you both have with a score of 233? Might help us predict this year's AQS as last year it was 232 with a rank of 106 ...
