Re: Merchant Taylor Maths answers 2009 paper
Thank you so much, do you have he other specimen paper answers also? At least I can double check all my answers so far. This is my first time using this site - wish I joined sooner!
Re: Merchant Taylor Maths answers 2009 paper
23a) Is it right angled as well?
31a) should be a distance
For number 9 as the numbers are close I did not add them but guessed 80 then adjusted my answer.

Yes I thought 31a and c are answered in distance?
Can you let me know how you worked out 28? The horses and head question.

Re: Merchant Taylor Maths answers 2009 paper
List all the multiples of 4 and all the multiples of 2. Then identify which combination of 4s and 2s add up to the total number of legs required. (5x4)+(7x2).
Re: Merchant Taylor Maths answers 2009 paper
Thank you very much Northdad, for sharing.
Re: Merchant Taylor Maths answers 2009 paper
I didn't do it like that. I drew circles for heads and gave them all two legs then looked at how many 'extra' legs I had - this is double the number of horses. [They each need two more]
