Verbal Reasoning and it challenges

Post by FAM79 »

Hi All, I am using VA books but it looks like the VA sample tests are extracts from books like history, environment/science or general reading books by children year 4,5 and 6. can any one guide me mandatory books my son should read that can help him to improve his VA.

Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure what VA is? Your title says verbal reasoning but it sounds more as though you are talking about comprehension. People can probably help you better if you clarify, and also say which exams you are aiming for.

Also - I assume it's a typo, but do you mean, '...and it's challenges', or '...and IT challenges'? I must admit that when I saw the title of the thread, I assumed that it would be a chronicle of your problems with a provider of on-line Verbal Reasoning tuition or testing. I would have responded that DS1 had a go with one of these for a couple of months a few years ago and found it fun to do, if nothing else, but sadly I can't remember which company it was. So not much help, really, sorry.

Hi, I am using https://aepublications.co.uk/exam_board/cem/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, they are using book named Verbal Activity verbal reasoning techniques.
when we used one of these books it looks these activities are basically extracts from different books and children have to do fill in the blanks , meaning if they would have already read those books their is potential chance they can attempt that fill in blanks properly.
My query is there anyway i can find the list of books which my son study till next few months that help him VA test and comprehension test.
since I am living in Woodley(reading) so I have options to apply Grammar schools in Reading and slough.
Looking forward to hear from your end.

AE verbal activity books are very good, also have a look at CGP 10 minute tests - Verbal reasoning close & comprehension.
