Scores and rankings gathered from last year

Post by WMMum »

I have searched through last years thread copying scores and rankings for the priority circles where possible. It is not a perfect picture but may give you an idea where your DC's score would have placed them last year. I was going to post scores from the year DD1 took it (2013) but almost 1000 more children took the test this year so the figures are not comparable.

Please read carefully as it is not very well structured.
Some 2016 stats
2694 total children
1367 total boys
1327 total girls
1037 southern children
721 eastern children
507 southern boys

That's really interesting information, especially the big difference between the number of all children, and the number of children in the south/east!
I have a quiestion.....do children in the priority areas have preference over children outside the areas? In other words, can a child be offered a place on a lower score in March, over a higher scoring child outside the area? Many thanks

In the past, offers have only been made to DC within the priority areas on the 1st March. DC outside the priority areas are then added to the waiting lists and then offered places once they become available in the following rounds of offers.

So yes, a DC with a lower score (but above the AQS) living the priority area will be offered a place before any DC out of the priority areas in the first round.

I assume the same will be true this year, although it hasn't always been so in the East.

I'm new to posting here. My DS's results arrived yesterday and I didn't really know what they meant. This site has been so helpful, both in reassuring me that many are confused this year, and in giving some really helpful benchmarks to compare scores against. In particular, this topic has been fantastic as it has filled the information gap about the numbers in each area. Thank you so much :D
