Historical data inc. Allocation, Results, Rank & Appeals

Post by kenyancowgirl »

Just bumping this to the top...for Warwickshire people, the important thing is not the scores, but the ranks....looking at the ranks that achieved a place in the schools will allow you to judge whether your rank (eg x ranked girl out of x number girls/ x ranked boy out of x number boys) has a chance - admittedly it is far more complicated this year without the priority area information.

Without the priority area information the score or rank loses relevance. I am also suspicious of sharing results with Birmingham and vice versa will influence the stats particularly if parents have done this with no intention of sending their kids to those schools.

Apart from that I don't think anything has changed. Therefore I would assume if you scored above the AQS for previous years this would give you a fair chance of a place this year.

However we will need to wait until March see how the allocations go and then we draw new conclusions to try and understand this 11+ enigma.

Agreed fatnorville but for example if say rank 126 ish has been about the lowest rank in to a school for the last few years - if last year that equated to x ranked boy out of all boys, it gives a guide if you then look at what your rank is out of all boys - a very rough guide admittedly!! I love your description of the 11+ enigma though!! Obviously they thought we had all had it easy for a few years...!!

I believe it is a mistake. The admissions policies of the schools make specific reference to providing provisional ranking. I would suggest that means they are obliged to provide that information.
A provisional ranking of where the score places the child out of all children
who have sat the test, and within each relevant area (East, South or both).

Have been back through old posts and pulled out previous years AQS and waiting list scores in case these help some people.

2017 Entry
KES - AQS 232; waiting list 225+
SGGS - AQS 220; waiting list 212+
AGS - AQS 213; waiting list 208+

LSS - AQS 209; waiting list 205+
RHS - AQS 207; waiting list 203+
Ashlawn - AQS 206; waiting list 200+

2016 Entry
KES - AQS 232; waiting list 226+
SGGS - AQS 222; waiting list 216+
AGS - AQS 217; waiting list 212+

LSS - AQS 207; waiting list 202+
RHS - AQS 205; waiting list 200+
Ashlawn - AQS 203; waiting list 198+

2015 Entry
KES - AQS 228; waiting list 222+
SGGS - AQS 218; waiting list 212+
AGS - AQS 210; waiting list 206+

LSS - AQS 209; waiting list 202+
RHS - AQS 205; waiting list 200+
Ashlawn - AQS 208; waiting list 202+

2014 Entry
KES - AQS 227; waiting list 220+
SGGS - AQS 216; waiting list 210+
AGS - AQS 214; waiting list 209+

LSS - AQS 209; waiting list 202+
RHS - AQS 203; waiting list 198+
Ashlawn - AQS 202; waiting list 196+

Hopefully I got them right. Generally a slight upwards trend for all schools but not normally by more than a couple of points each time. Although obviously we won't know about this year until March and so that may change. But that's the historical position!

I have just pulled this out from this time last year - gives a vague idea of scores and their ranks - which might help give a sense too.

Information from this time last year
Hi,
Numbers collated from various posts including Chuggabug's
From a spreadsheet for my own benefit - we did not receive our Warkwickshire letter until today so only had the score from Birmingham letter.
So sorry if any errors.

Some number inferred assuming Rank for boys & girls - Rank for boys = Rank for girls etc.

First number is Score then Ranks:
All, all boys, all girls, all south, south boys, etc.

Question....when we fill in the CAF.....if we put KES 1st and then AGS 2nd and don't make it to KES do we damage our chances of AGS because we put it second.

No you don't damage your chances at all. If you dont get KES, AGS automatically becomes your first choice.

Thanks, that's great. We are still hopeful of KES but right on the borderline so wanted to make sure.
