Does anyone know what the pass mark was for Maths stage 2? Was this given out to those who didn't make it through?

Edited to say, by my calculations I think it must have been about 63

that's if the English pass was 79 (as mentioned by another poster), the SET pass was 103.5 (half of 207) and the lowest score to pass overall (all three test combined) was 246.

Edited to say that I was completely wrong in this, as I hadn't realized that the SET scores were restandardized based on the cohort of girls in the second stage. This means 103.5 was not the minimum score.

Just wondered in reality what the difference in marks would be between the highest and lowest candidates? Is there a massive difference between a score of 300 ish and 370?

Using the Highest and Lowest scores this year (which almost match the highest and lowest scores last year) of 402 and 246 respectively, together with an assumption that Mean score was 300 and fitting a normal curve would imply the above mentioned cut-off scores for Nonsuch would corresponding to the following overall ranks

294: Rank of around 550.
288: Rank of around 620.
310: Rank of around 370
304: Rank of around 440

In effect (although the admissions policy could read confusing, but given that for both OOC and IC applicants with selective ability do exceed the respective places), the OOC and IC admissions work almost separately.

There are 185 OOC and 235 IC places across the two schools.

The IC scores, corresponding to ranks 550 and 620 respectively, make sense. It is safe to assume that overall around 130 girls would put other state schools as higher preference over either Nonsuch or WH, and that a further 70 then ended up choosing an independent school so the waitlist got extended by that much.

The IC scores on offer day and waiting list (corresponding to ranks 490 and 620 respectively) make sense given 420 total places across two schools (and further assuming similar preferences for Nonsuch and WH). It is safe to assume that around 80 girls IC would have put other state schools as higher preference over either Nonsuch or WH, and that a further 120 then ended up choosing an independent school so the waitlist got extended by that much.

The OOC scores however puzzle me. Ranks of 370 and 440 respectively are way outside the top 85 places an OOC girl needs to be in to get a place. I read the admissions policy as IC girl with rank 800 would get a preference over OOC girl ranked 86. Clearly I have got it wrong- so could someone please explain what part have I got wrong? Thanks.

Meanwhile Rank 85 overall as per my calculations corresponds to a score of 346, so anyone with 346 or above is certainly guaranteed a place IC or OOC.

That is already incorporated in the above calculation. The mean/ standard deviation I have applied is for all 965 rather than 850 who passed all three. There would not be many (if at all anyone) who missed the subject cutoff who would otherwise finish above 304+ score (if someone got 78 or less in one subject they would need to be getting 120+ in the other subject to get to 304+).
