Eleven plus admission
Hi everyone! My daughter got 113 marks in slough consortium. Her elder sister is already going to herschel grammer school. I was just wondering if my daughter can get admission in herchel on sibling bases? We live in Reading.
Re: Eleven plus admission
Best to check the Herschel admission policy

But I strongly suspct there is no sibling criteria for Herschel.

What does Herschel's admission arrangement say? Do they have sibling priority if oversubscribed? May be you will be better informed if you read the relevant admissions arrangements.

Cross posted with Tinkers.
Re: Eleven plus admission
Siblings are not mentioned on the admission criteria for either Herschel or Upton but it does ask on the CAF if there is a sibling at these schools who will still be there in Sept 2018.
DS has a sibling at Upton so I'm also not sure if it counts or not? I think i'll call the school tomorrow and check.
Thankfully DS will be high up as he is currently in a feeder school and we live 'fairly' close (3 miles, straight line)
Fingers tightly crossed!

If it's not in the admission criteria, I'm afraid it won't count for anything.

My DS scored 112 and live in postcode catchment

Which one did your DS and you like when you visited? Which are the easiest to get to? I don't know anything about Slough scores, will this get him into whichever he likes? Only you can decide which to put first as we don't know your son.

Re: Eleven plus admission
It depends on the school you are after. I only know about LGS - If you are in Priority Area 1 as defined by the school, your DS will be offered a place as 111 is the pass score. Any DC in the priority area 1 with a score of 111 or above will be offered a place in the school.BuildDS wrote:My DS scored 112 and live in postcode catchment
