Hello,

Ds is in year 11.Could you suggest AQA exam practice material please. Got C in mock test he wanted to improve. Thank you

His school should be able to provide best help. Ask him to see his teacher and/or Head of English to identify weaknesses and remedial work. At good bookstores, WH Smith or Waterstone, revison guide and practice material is available, published by CGP, Oxford UP etc.

Was this a grade 4 or grade 5? The school should give him specific feedback, that's the point of mocks. Once he's got that there are some great free online resources.

Maybe post again when he's found out more?

Thank you all for you reply. I will ask him to speak to his teacher, was told is Grade 5

A grade 5 is an 'old' C/low B ... so should be possible to push to a 6 quite easily.

Thank you, ds had feed back from his teacher his low result is mainly to do with exam techinique than lack of knowledge. I would greatly appreciate if you recommend any material to support him. Thanks again for your support

What are the school offering? Most schools run extensive help sessions from now to GCSEs ....
Ask the teacher for a recommended book specific to that specification. I know CGP have one but don't know if it's good.

It might be worth looking at the spec and all the things on the exam board website?

Yes, look at the website I linked to it has sample papers etc.

Lots of students rave about Mr Bruff on youtube ...
