Untrue -
Many unis actually prefer Maths and Further Maths A level to computer science - I know a number of students studying CS degrees - none of them did the subject at school.

Also QEB doesn't give "further maths "to all boys and they have their own set of exams and expects very high standards of results in Severn tests for allocating " further maths" for boys.

Most unis I can think of prefer computer science students to have A level Maths rather than a GCSE or A level in CS.

The departure time is 7:30am from near Newbury Park Station for an 8:30am arrival, with school starting at 8:45am. The provider mentioned that there were significant delays on two occasions last year, both due to accidents on the A12, one resulting in an arrival at 9:15am and the other delaying the return journey home. The provider also mentioned that as a result of constant monitoring of the traffic situation there was the very occasional need to contact parents to ask them to drop their kids off 5 or 10 minutes early if deemed necessary. All in all, this continues to seem like a perfectly viable solution, so for anyone who finds themselves in this position please feel free to send me a message if you'd like the provider's contact details.

Thank you so much.
My son has scored well in CSSE but borderline for QE. Thinking of KEGS and Colchester, although myDS prepeared for QEB!
Hi Jaypn2009. You're welcome. Please pm me if you would like the transport provider contact details. Good luck and kind regards.

Dana, does your transport provider also offer a late bus for those taking part in after school clubs or representing the school at sports etc, or a service for parents attending parents evenings and concerts or other school events?

I am bumping this thread to reflect the fact that we have just 16 days left until allocation day and there are many families who are waiting to see if they have an place at QE on March 1st before paying a hefty deposit for private school.

231 was the last score to get in on allocation day last year and 224 was the last score in September.

12 extra places were added after allocation day which raised the total amount of spaces available from 180 to 192 but it has not been confirmed if this will be the case again this year.

QE have said that they do not have the classroom space to continue with this increase each year.

Please look at the first post in this thread to see all the historical data on last scores to get in the past few years.

Only QE know what the last score to get in is going to be this year but it was never been lower than 231 since the second round was abandoned in 2012.

Please do not post anything other than QE 11 plus results and any discussion concerning the chances of 192 places being available this year on this thread.
