Can the parents of girls join too, or is this just for boys?

Varsha, stop panicking! Nobody knows (except for the transport people at the Council) as it varies hugely from year to year, depending on where people live and who has moved on from getting the school bus. They will not accept applications early, they have given you the date applications open, you just have to do what everyone else who is waiting for the Vacant Seat Scheme is doing and wait patiently but spend some time considering back ups just in case you don't get a space.

Once you have a space, you are given priority over new people applying the following year, as long as you re-apply on time.
