TGS commute from Epsom

Post by Mommyof2 »

It has been a fantastic journey of 11+ prep. Hard work has paid off and DD secured a place at TGS. This forum has been extremely helpful I must say! Is there any other DD who is travelling to TGS from Epsom? It would be great to have company. Any enlightenment on travel arrangements would be much appreciated. :D
Thanks.

1. Train to Raynes Park, train to Kingston and then bus to TGS.
2. Bus 418 to Kingston and then bus to TGS.
3. Drive to school every day.

Btw, did she pass Nonsuch/Wally Girls test too? One of those schools would have been more practical and convenient for travel. You could still put her name on their WL.

Thankyou for the response tiffinboys. Yes she did pass nonsuch and WGS but Tiffins was her first choice. I did a school run from where I live in 406 and it took me 35 mins to brook street bus stop from where she could get 65 or walk to school from the Cromwell bus station. If she gets company that would be great.
Thanks

Without knowing which part of Epsom (which may affect this)

Train to Raynes Park and change to Kingston and then walk is probably most reliable, and quickest

Train to Worcester Park then 213 bus (would be cheaper, but not sure how much quicker than 406 or 418)

406 or 418 bus can be badly affected by traffic, simple but slow

Bus from Chessington might be option, there is a direct bus 671 to TGS

467 bus to Hook then 671 (467 is infrequent, and only one 671 per day so timings might not work)

Some people take child part journey on their way to work, dropping them at a bus stop, on their own way to work
