you will see that in 2015 and 2017, those a bit lower down on the waiting list did get an offer (no-one reported relevant information for 2016). Obviously, the behaviour of one cohort won't necessarily be replicated in any later year, but 4th sounds quite hopeful.

Waiting list moved to 3 today for crgs
It is still showing 4online but on phone they confirmed 3

If you applied through Essex CC, you used to be able to log in to check your position on waiting lists.

Did you call the school? Essex CC holds the waiting lists for Essex schools until later in the summer (ditto Southend Borough Council admissions team for Southend schools, including the Southend and Westcliff grammar schools).
