Wallington country grammar school boys
Hi
I applied for my son to wallington boys.
We live in teddington do you think he can commute, bus x26? Should I relocate?
If your son makes a similar journey please share your experience, how is it ?
Thanks
Heather

Handful of children do used to go from New Malden/Kingston to WCGS. But only you would know if your child could make such long journey from Teddington.Heatherj wrote:Hi

Have you tried this journey in school time? That would give you a better idea.
X26 is not a frequent bus service, but if you live near it’s stops, still it is about an hour’s journey to school.

Thanks for the reply, agree I am planning to take the bus x26 at 7 o'clock so see how long it takes and if reliable
but I really appreciate it if I can get views from parents with boys commuting maybe from Kingston or New Malden,
Thanks again

I thought travelling from New Malden to Wallington would be too far.Heatherj wrote:Thanks for the reply, agree I am planning to take the bus x26 at 7 o'clock so see how long it takes and if reliable

- * What time will your boy have to wake up to catch that bus?
* What time will he have to go to sleep to wake up at that time?
* When will he be back home?
* Will he have a chance to relax before or after homework?
For your son's sake, please consider relocating.

OP, what is your plan B, should you decide that after all, the journey is not sustainable for your DS? (I have to say that some of us might have thought to try it out a few times before submitting the CAF, rather than waiting until induction day season?). Does he have an indie place reserved for him as well, or will you either have to uproot your family or hope that a halfway decent comprehensive school in your own neighbourhood will come up with a waiting list place before September?
