Hmmn - it was my understanding that siblings were not allowed to take the exam anymore, so that would never be a conflict????

DAO cannot actually stop them from taking the test if they are living in the catchment area as they are applying for the test not the school.

Any Y5 living in the catchment area is eligible to take the test.

I know of several siblings who have taken it.

When it comes to applying for the school this is a different story and as the sibling critieria is higher then that it what applies. The distance critiera is above Sibling, music and academic.

Music is above academic so those that get both are allocated a music place and their academic rank is removed from the list. DG

They do specifically request that siblings not take the test though as it increases their workload unnecessarily marking test papers.

Not as many as they mark for private school students who are just using DAO as a free mock.

However this year they will only be marking 325 English and Maths papers so quite a change from the 700 marked five years ago. DG

QE list moved two more places this week to 19 DGso it is likely that movement in one triggered movement in the other.

It is the CATs tests and the new students evening this week so DAO will be chasing any family that does not turn up for new students evening and any student who does not turn up for the CATS tests.

That might result in more movement. DG
