Sutton Mock B a lot harder than Slot A especially Maths

Do you have any idea that do kids lose marks in standard maths paper if they don't show working out at all. Does bad handwriting also can be the cause of losing marks.

The results are now out and it is correct that test B was harder than test A and that maths was harder than English. However, as always, it's a cohort exam so what really matters is how you perform compared with everyone else, not what your raw scores are.

Yes, looks like Mock B maths harder than Mock A,since it is a std paper, also Each Question had several parts of smallers questions hence harder for kids to say how much they missed it. Let's say if they think they left only 2 questions un attended , then in real terms they might have lost 5-10 marks already

Only 70~ kids scored above 80% out of all 1600~ kids.

There is no 'cut off' mark as such. The commentary attached to the results says that a score of 108 in each test is estimated to show selective ability (so a total score of 216+).

It is pointless as has been pointed out - the RANKING is what matters!

That's why tests are standardised and, later, grade boundaries vary.

I'm surprised at this lack of understanding ...
