Hi, have you had your WHSB appeal yet? I have experience of appeals at SHSB and WHSB. I can't promise anything I say will help but we had a successful outcome at one of the two schools and I'm happy to share our experience with you. Please feel free to PM me.

Thank you very much. WHSB was earlier this week, we don’t know the outcome yet.

Your case is very similar to ours; no extra time in the entrance exam but given in the SATs. It might be worth looking at my latest comment on my thread. Please feel free to PM me.

However just before Christmas he was assessed by an educational psychologist and this has confirmed dyslexia. I’m not sure about “severe” v “mild” as the report makes no reference to that but does say he would meet the disability definition under the equality act. It also states he should have 25% extra time in exams. His school have now put a series of interventions in place (too early to say if working) and they applied for extra time for SATs, which he will be getting in May.

Did the question of disability under the Equality Act come up at the appeal hearing? Did they discuss reasonable adjustments?
