KES Uniform

Post by Varsha2017 »

Need suggestions on KES Uniform - where to buy, how many pair and any other imp. consideration.
Parents with kids already in KES would help better advice. Pls suggest.

Not in your area, but searching on 'KES Stratford uniform' found this company:
https://earlyyears-uniform.co.uk/school ... stratford/

They seem to have a lot of uniform items there, so presumably it's an official supplier?

Schools usually provide a list. How many of each item you need will depend on how grubby your child is & how often you want to do the washing. For sports kit it will depend how sporty your child is. We usually had 2 of everything except blazers.

Definitely take a trip to Early Years - they are the official supplier (you should have all this information in the pack you were given at the welcome evening).

You need to physically visit the store, the first time, as they will measure you up and advise you. Take a note of the house your son is in as this is reflected by colour in his school tie. We tend to get white shirts and charcoal (ie NOT light grey/NOT black) trousers from one of the supermarkets (have a look at the colour in Early Years to get an idea, but they are cheaper in the supermarkets) - 2 pairs of trousers and 4 white shirts do us, from Early Years get one blazer, one tie. PE kit (shirt and shorts - the shorts double up as rugby shorts), rugby shirt and socks, art apron. Think that is about it from EY, from memory.

You can get additional items from the school website, icon at the bottom ShopKES - these items are non compulsory but the vast majority of students get all/some of them - here is the calculator they all use (would strongly recommend getting that particular one), the games holdall, pe bag, base layers to keep them warm etc. You will also need to get rugby boots and white trainers/white socks for PE. You must get instrument labels and plastic book covers from here.

One tie?

If you can survive with only one tie and it never being lost, well done! I strongly recommend having a spare.

I have bought three ties. We lost a shoe (I ask you!) on his first day of term in year six. Then the whole uniform the following month. It had just disappeared during games apparently
It does depend on the child and mine is a rather distracted one when it comes to his stuff and it’s whereabouts......
