Process for appeal with non qualifying score

Post by FarmerTed »

Hi everyone
Thanks to everyone for useful advice on this forum

Would welcome some thoughts on our situation... DD did not qualify for SHS , ranked 514 for Ribston. She really wants to be at SHS with his sister. She has some sensory difficulties (no diagnosis) that would make a smaller grammar school better for her.
Can I find out her rank for SHS even though she did not qualify ?
Is it worth appealing?
Thanks x

Try calling SHS - they may tell you where she is on the results list. A diagnosis would possibly help during an appeal. If you have very strong academic evidence, an appeal is appropriate.

I’d agree with exploring a diagnosis...with sensory issues check with dr first as Hypermobility syndromes can cause hypersensitivity issues as well as Dyspraxia. The Dyscovery Centre is Newport is a good resource for spld assessments.
