How many pass?

Post by Gee9876 »

Apologies if this has already been asked but does anyone have any idea what percentage pass the slough consortium exam?

So this year 4800 sat it, approximately what numbers pass?

It's roughly the same every year, approx 32-33% (ish)

2016 - 37% : 1492 Passed / 4009 Appeared , Total number of PAN : 535
2017 - 40% : 1686 Passed / 4241 Appeared , Total number of PAN : 565

2018 -
If we assume that 40% candidates will pass this time as well then it will be 1920 Pass / 4800 Appeared ,
Total number of PAN : 585

Are you sure the "PAN' is correct?
Total PAN for all 4 Slough Grammars for 2018 start (2017 exam) is 615

And how did almost 600 extra children sit the slough consortium exam this year? Compared to the 4242 last year??

I think (judging by this forum and what I’m also seeing locally) that an increasing number of Reading children(well their parents) are opting to share scores with Slough, and that might account for some of the extras.

Although in general there’s a increase in birth rates coming through too.

But the reading (shared results) actually went down from last year’s 507 to 500
Its the actual slough consortium figure thats shot up from 3700 to 4300

This year 873 sat at Reading, 292 elsewhere (1165 in total)

Last year 737 sat at Reading, 238 sat elsewhere (975 in total)
I’ve not seen figures for the actual sharing though. Where did you get those from? (Not doubting you, just interested to know where they came from as I’ve not seen anybquited before I don’t think.)

If that’s the case then other than increased birth rate, I have no clue.
