Hello, my DC is sitting the Kent Test in September.

Just thinking about the summer holidays. Has anyone found a summer revision course to be beneficial to their child?

Thank you

Our group tuition company offered summer revision courses in Kings Hill and Medway. It was useful because it broke it down into very specific modules, so we chose a couple of weaker areas per week for three weeks. It helped build up speed at just the right moment. Make sure you have plenty of rest and relaxation built in. Maybe a holiday for a complete break from study and do little or nothing in the final few days.

Just a reminder that forum rules stipulate that recommendations should be by pm only - also that someone can say they are a parent who has used a particular service, but could also actually be a tutor or rep from a tuition company.

We mostly home tutored but DS did a couple of weeks at a summer course and did a mock exam with them too. We both found it very useful. He did the Bexley and the Kent test and they combined both type of questions on the course for him. I found it a very efficient way of doing things over the holidays before the exams. It was three mornings a week and he did nothing at home other than reading during those weeks. (And not much during the other weeks either!) We went out in the afternoons and had fun.
