Verbal reasoning in the Perse Eleven Plus exam.

Post by Cambridgemum »

Hi,

Cam anyone help me with preparation for the Perse (Cambridge) eleven plus exam next year (January 2019)?

I'm confused about verbal reasoning - it is not mentioned anywhere on the one- hour past English exam paper.

Does that mean there is a separate paper for verbal reasoning?

If so, how long does it last?

Many thanks.

Will move this to the independent schools section, you are more likely to get an answer there.

My understanding from the website is that there are 3 papers - English, maths & VR. I haven't downloaded them but it suggests that the VR are just sample questions not a past paper. I'm sure if no-one on here knows the school could answer your question in January.

As stated on the website there are three separate papers: Maths , English and VR.

There are sample papers for all three on the website.

I would recommend you do all of these sample papers under timed conditions which will help your DC to prepare for the exams. DG

Having looked at the Perse website, the VR format looks similar to me to Bond VR Assessment Paper books, so those might be good practice. Still worth contacting the school when they are open and asking though...
