NLCS & CLGS Interview

Hi. My DD has been invited for an interview at NLCS & CLGS in a few days. We don't have a clue what either of the interviews entail or what to expect . I'd be extremely grateful if anyone could help with some insights/tips.

Would be some general questions and simple tests on maths and English.

I thought all interviews finished yesterday?

Both talk at length about interests and subject with some aptitude VR testing and questions to see if children can think.

Thank you Earningaplace. I've heard that there are a few mental maths/logical puzzles type questions asked too

Yes. Just assure DD that it won't be about getting the right answer but about talking through her thinking. It's almost impossible to get the right answer. I only know two girls who solved the mental maths. One at NLCS who is like a human calculator and top in the year on UK Maths Challenge. The one at CLSG I know got a problem that they had had for homework the week before at school. She was sensible enough to pretend to think about it.

Yes, I think there are five in total. My daughter was told she did them correctly. She found the interview to be a positive experience. We just have CLSG to do now.

Daughter had 35 minute interview at CLSG. They didn’t ask what schools she had applied for. They said they had bought back just under 250 girls from 830 who sat and they will make 150 offers.
