Mixed School: Kingston Grammar/Ibstock Place/Ewell Castle

Post by WorkHardAndHope »

Hi This forum has been very helpful in the last year.

We are looking for a mixed school for our son and would really appreciate any views on Kingston Grammar, Ibstock Place and Ewell Castle school. Are these schools considered less academic than single sex schools?

We have a bright boy who wouldn’t be happy in a high pressure school but at the same time do want him to be challenged.

Thanks

Don't know Ibstock Place or Ewell Castle, but I wouldn't put Kingston Grammar in the non academic category. Their results are equivalent to Tiffin boys if I am not mistaken. I only heard/read good things about the school and lots of parents face agonizing decisions between Hampton (traditionally viewed as the more academic one) and KGS.
